To try and become more creative and imaginative with type and to improve my InDesign skills, I decided to create a piece of work across a two page spread, using some Song Lyrics. I chose to use Lyrics from the closing scene in the film Napoleon Dynamite, where Kip is singing an atrocious song to his new bride that he met online.
I have tried to make the piece as contemporary, but also as geeky as possible. I've focused on trying to keep the spread clean but also colourful and intricate with the use of shapes and filters. I also took a picture of Kip, cut it out in Photoshop, vectorised it in Illustrator and then placed it in InDesign. I think i've been succesful in creating something quite abstract and creative, I've used a variety of new skills such as fitting text to a path i've drawn with the pen tool, as well as using filters on InDesign.
