Shift - Taking Creativity Forward

The Shift Logo

Whilst i've been working at Studio Precept this summer, they've been developing an Internship Programme that they plan to run alongside their Agency in the Kingsland Church Studios.

The idea is that after the initial few months, the internship could act as it's own agency full of young creatives and make its own cash. Now that its up and running, me and the rest that have been working with Precept have been shifted into this internship programme.

The internship is called Shift (notice that segway) and whilst we're running it like a creative agency, the goal is to use it as a space where young creatives can really explore new ways of thinking and work alongside and collaborate with other peers who specialise in a variety of different creative skill sets. With it being an internship scheme, it'll open up a real opportunity for dozens and dozens of young creatives across the area (and beyond) a chance to practice their craft in a real working environement. Work experience, nevermind internships are hard to come by these days, so that in itself makes Shift a creditable project. But there's more to Shift than that, Shift intends to take its idea and share them. The plan is to exhibit these ideas from a leading venue in the North East with workshops, guest speakers and other collaborative bits & pieces, you get the idea.

As it stands, Shift is being financed by Studio Precept, and that cash flow will stop in September. Once that happens, its up to Shift to fend for itself. You'll be delighted to hear however, that you can help out with this project. We've set up an Indiegogo page which explains a bit more about the project as well as ways in which you can get involved. We're offering a variety of 'Perks' which you can purchase and contribute to Shift. Please give it a look when you get a spare chance.

Cheers.
