Summer Targets

Márcia Novais: Variações de Temperatura

Theres no point in me doing nothing between now and going back to College in September. So I plan on doing a few projects over the next few months.

Right now, I'm currently working on a couple of branding projects for mates, which are currently at different stages.

Also I plan on making one of my poster designs into a proper typeface, which'll look cool. Doing that as part of my last project has given me the confidence to have a go at creating other typefaces. I thought at first it would be a really skilled painstaking job, and while for the most part, it kind of is, I feel it's something i'm up to doing now.

I also plan on doing some drawing. I've realised i've become a little impatient when it comes to the early design stages of projects. Mainly because i'm so used to doing things digitally nowadays. But because the first few sketches of initial ideas are so fundamental to coming up with strong final outcomes, I don't think it'll hurt for me to practice and hone my drawing skills again.

Above is one of many great posters by Marcia Novais. She creates really cool typographic posters with imagery of architecture, blue prints and uses some great colour palettes. It might just be me, but do foreign languages look way more aesthetically pleasing than our own?
