A recent project at College was to help rebrand an internationally respected Interior Design, George Bond, who lives locally. He wasn't happy with his current brand and wanted something new that was sophisticated and clean.
Above was my favourite design, I wanted to represent the initials in a fresh way. I thought using the letters to create an 'chemical element' had a very striking and distinct appearance, and looking dynamic and authoritative. Alongside that I would have a fuller descriptor of the brand, which could have worked separately or alongside it, as shown on this business card design:
What i've learnt from this experience however is this, that I should always been over prepared for a pitch, that way I won't be fumbling for words, and I can quickly adapt to situations to pitch my ideas in the most efficient way. Also, others in the group had applied their ideas to stationary designs, so that the concept could have been seen in situ. Why I didn't think of doing that is beyond me, but i'll know for next time. Finally, I think I need to revise the way I generate ideas a little. Although I always come up with as many initial ideas as possible, I tend to only really develop one concept. I'm very pleased with what I came up with, but had I gone into the pitch with perhaps another two concepts which were quite different, I might have fared better.
