Typographic Poster Research: Côme de bouchony

Côme de bouchony is a freelance graphic designer who is heavily influenced by music.

He works on an eclectic range of projects mostly in music, cultural and media areas, on identities, books, magazines, video, animations and websites among others. He rarely sticks to one style and works with a range of colours, types and compositions.

Two of the posters shown were based on Songs that he liked, the ideas behind them were heavily inspired by sound waves and using them alongside type. The images are digitally rendered before being screen printed.

I find his work visually really striking as, particularly shown here, he works with a lot intriate line detail and smooth well chosen colours and his work has a strong feeling of movement and energy throughout. Looking at his work has inspired me to be more creative and varied with my use of type, but at the same time, search more for the fonts that I use and not be afraid to try combining certain type styles together.
